Secrets were revealed, old friends were united, somebody is falling to madness, conflicts arise and the winter is finally here guys.
If you haven’t seen the season 7 episode 5 yet, please turn around and watch it first and stop scrolling down because there are SPOILERS ahead! Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
So, let’s start with the most exciting detail since the Ned-Lyanna reunion as we were once again hinted toward Jon’s parentage which you most likely would have missed over Sam’s whining. In the episode when Sam is all distressed over the Maestros behavior, he ignores the big reveal by Gilly while reading the old tome with trivial details of all kind. While telling Sam about different facts, she mentions Prince Rhaegar Targaryen, the son of Mad King and big brother to Daenerys, got his marriage to Princess Elia Martell annulled and got remarried in a secret ceremony but the text doesn’t reveal the name of the special lady. No problem, we already know who she might be..
Hint: Lady Stark the rebellious, who was once betrothed to the Baratheon king; yeah we are talking about Lyanna Stark.
Is Jon Really a Bastard?
You guys know what this would mean, right? Jon Snow won’t be Rhaegar’s bastard instead he would be the rightful heir to the Iron Throne and The Seven Kingdoms. What supports this claim further is the part of episode where Daenerys landed the dragon in front of Jon and he very successfully reached out to the dragon. Other than Daenerys and Tyrion, only Jon has been successful in doing so. Does this mean that we have three riders for the three dragons now? Does this somehow tie us to the theory about Tyrion being the bastard of Aerys?
Poor Sam, he was so close to learning an important detail but his emotions got the best of him, so know he’s heading back to north of the wall, most probably, after collecting all those scrolls and books. How about we skip to the second highlight of the episode. Is Dany really suitable to be the rightful queen with all that madness kicking in?
Dragon Queen Going Mad?
Is telling the defeated soldier to choose between bending the knee or dying really giving them a choice.? No, it’s not; she completely ignored Tyron’s advice and burned two unarmed men; Randall Tarly and Dickon Tarly, for not bending the knee. That’s cruel and clearly shows her following the paths of her mad father.
So in other news, Daenerys let Jon go along with her special knight, Jorah Mormont, after a short reunion. Speaking of reunions, Gendry is back and with a talent of swinging hammers too. After the long rowing he has finally returned and that too with a bang, bang on two Gold Cloaks head. When Davos has satisfied them with his bribing and lies, Tyrion turns up and all goes down the drain but not for long; Gendry sways his hammer in full action and gets rid of them.
Later, ignoring Davos’s instructions, he introduces himself as Robert’s Bastard to Jon Snow and even calls him short, which was quite entertaining. The reunion doesn’t end here as Gendry was once again united with the Brotherhood Without Banners and together they made the most badass team against the Night King, you guys could see it at the end of episode. Men with different objectives, united against the common enemy.
Best Team Ever!?
Can’t wait to see the most amazing team up, fighting together in the next episode. You ask what’s so amazing about this team up? Well, they do have Beric Dondarrion, the man who has died countless time and has been brought back to life, The Hound, Thoros of Myr, Jon freaking Snow, Jorah Mormont, Tormund Giantsbane, our favorite wildling, and Gendry, the last breathing son of Robert Baratheon. What could possibly be better than these men marching toward the suicidal battle against the dead, together side by side?
Little Finger Is At It Again:
At the end, we have to talk about what’s going on in Winterfell. Little finger is again playing his game, trying to create a clash between the two sisters by planting the letter written by Sansa to Rob to bend the knee to Joffery, under pressure from Cersei. What could Little finger get from creating this conflict?
