Parents everywhere have been warned to watch their children very closely after a boy had been found to be raping a child repeatedly.
The child was said to be abused by the 19-year-old William Nicholson, who had been watching pornography since he was 12, to satisfy his sexual curiosity.

It was said in the court that the boy, who had not been going to school for 7 years, used to experiment on the minor and also showed her pornography. It was proved by the searches of X-rated films on his X-box.
The perpetrator, of Darlington, was only 14 when he first started molesting the primary school pupil. However, his horrendous actions were not discovered until 2015.

It was brought to the Teesside Crown Court’s attention that the little girl confided in her mother’s friend, after which the matter was taken to the police.
Judge Peter Armstrong concluded the young man’s behaviour was influenced by the excessive exposure to pornography. He said it was impossible to believe that watching porn did not have an effect on his behaviour. He was perhaps curious about what he saw, used the girl as an object for his experimentation and acting out what he saw.

He warned parents to monitor their children’s actions in private vigilantly and not to just leave them to their devices. Parents should know what their children are doing in their room on their own.
“It’s behaviour where it is experimenting or curious and perhaps acting out what he had seen using [the girl] as an object to do that.”
The victim mentioned in a statement she struggled to explain events at that time, which scarred her permanently and still she suffers from nightmares.
“When this was happening I felt really confused. I knew it was wrong, but I couldn’t put it into words.”
The court declared Nicholson guilty of multiple charges of rape, attempted rape, multiple indecent assaults, and forcing a child into engaging in a sexual activity.
To prevent him from hurting another child he was sent to young offenders’ institution for six years and he is to remain on the sex offenders register for the rest of his life.

Further, he will not be allowed to work with children and an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order was put in order, under which he will be prohibited from having unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 16 and also restricts his access to a computer and internet.
